The pre-order bonuses for Lollipop Chainsaw are limited to different skins for main character Juliet, but they all pack the same nonsensical punch found in the game’s trailers.
Best Buy seems to have the best deal, as players will have access to two skins - the Goth Girl and Foxy Funk outfits. Those who pre order from GameStop will be able to play as Ash from Evil Dead, and if you’re a PowerUp Rewards memeber you’ll also get access to the Jimmy Urine skin - modeled after Jimmy Urine from the band Mindless Self Indulgence, who also contributed music and voice over work to the game.

While pre order bonuses have become the norm in the game industry, it’s unfortunate that the costumes will be split up among retailers. Considering Lollipop Chainsaw is being published by Warner Bros., we can probably expect a similar situation to Batman Arkham City, wherein the pre-order bonuses are later made available to all consumers. Of course, they could always go the same route as Resistance 3 and release all the pre-order bonuses for free a few months after release.
If there’s one good thing that may come out of this, it’s that the pre-order bonuses may act as an incentive for gamers to pick up Lollipop Chainsaw. Suda 51’s last title, Shadows of the Damned sold abysmally, despite being very enjoyable. Maybe Lollipop Chainsaw won’t suffer the same fate?
Lollipop Chainsaw will launch in 2012 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
